It’s important to maintain good mobility of the fascia on both the bottom and top of the foot. 

Many people experience restricted range of motion of the 1st ray, or the Big Toe, and working this range of motion can be very helpful to address that stiffness. This can help with improving our gait patterns, decrease pain in the big toe, and help with bunions and hammer toes.
Waking up the Feet. It is important to stimulate t Waking up the Feet. It is important to stimulate the sensory receptors of the foot as a way to increase proprioceptive feedback to the brain. This can help us improve our body awareness and balance. 

Using a ball to release the fascia on the feet can also help to relieve areas of tension and increase foot mobility, and improve biomechanics.
